Someone wants to make an entry in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest cigar ever made. Cubans are dying of envy I bet. Or was it made in Cuba? One never knows with Fidel....

I just got a call from a CBoater that used to be on the US WildWater team in the 70's and early 80's. He believes it was most likely made in the late 70's (and not 75), as it looks to him like one of Al Button's boats (another US team member in the 70's), most likely the one he built in '77. If so it was designed in MN or the north-mid-west.

Anyone else out there care to take a guess? .

I'd say so far the concensus is that it's one BIG cigar. Better not let Paul Bunyan know about it....

I've heard of ciggarette boats, but never a cigar boat
Here's the story on my cigar from the builder (I'm the 2nd owner of this boat):

"Made in 1976 at the NOC boatshop beside the brick house. The bow has a dent where John Burton smashed it on the Nanthala."

"No idea what mode. Refigured it to be made in 1975. So that means it was early 70's. I worked at NOC in the raft room and made the boat that summer. A hairboate from Tennessee named Mark Hall hooked me up with a guy named Cleve Tedford somewhere in TN. Super nice people. Made the boat to race in the 1975 Jr National Championships on the Nantahala. Could not get the cockpit rim fixed in time and paddled Angus Morrisons boat. He was something like 220 pds and I was around 150. Beat the Lugbills and passed David Hearn just below the bump. Flipped in the stuff above the falls but rolled in the bottom. So that is my claim to fame"

There are a few things that I know for sure:
1-This is the ugliest boat that I've ever brought home.
2-This is the tippiest boat I've ever been in (even tippier than j-boats).
