Dagger Impulse improving performance??

If I was to shorted the thwarts in my Impulse and so nip the gunnels in a bit (HOW MUCH?) what would happen?

I wondered if it would round the hull profile a little and perhaps give it a bit more rocker. At the moment it is stable and slow, which is fine just now, but when I get a bit better a nip and tuck job might be in order.

I also have a Rival, which I find too advanced for me at the moment. Something in between would be fine, hence the though to modify the Impulse.

Also though about making the Impulse a tandem boat. Any comments on this?

Cheers!

tony,
If you shorten the thwarts you will take rocker out.

Tony,
Put the Impulse on the rack. Get in the Rival and stay there. Wonderful boat.
Shortening the thwarts will make the boat slightly faster, but like Kaz says it will reduce the rocker.
