What kind of boat would someone reccomend for a river running/ play c-1. From my experience I have found the wave sport x to be a good boat. If I paddle anything smaller I just get tossed around when the river is high during runoff. I like the X because It seemes to have enough volume to punch holes and perform in big water situations and I can still shred the play spots along the way. The only thing I cant do in it is link cartwheels which is easier in smaller boats.

think the drakkar wheelboy, not especially for river running but heard that it performs great, perfect for playboating.

My firend in Idaho has an H3 255 conversion which he likes. I was also looking for H3 to convert but couldn't find one cheap enough. I think the H3 would keep you from bobbing around, but I'm not sure how playful it would be. I'm sure you could certainly surf in it fine. I'd like to try the H3 if you convert one, and live in NC or a nearby state. I'll almost certainly be getting a fatboy May/June I'll let you know how that is.

You could try a conversion of one of the EZ series, I have a SuperEZ (good for bigger folks)that gets me down alot of rivers well and is pretty playfull. I think as a kayak they market it as a river-play boat now. If you're near Virginia you'd be welcome to check mine out anytime.
