Hip Pads: The C Boaters Friend

I read a posting on our site a couple of months ago about adding hip pads to our C-1's and open boats. I experimented with two or three designs that I ducted taped in, I then made some revisions after using them on the river.
I am amazed at the differance adding these pads to a boat can accomplish. Stabilty is increased, accessive leaning in decreased, off sides stability is increased and the need for overly tight thigh straps is reduced.
If anyone is using the newer, shorter boats for conversions, I recommend using hips pads. I also have a bulkhead.
