It depends on what you want in a playboat...

Surf, speed, stern squirt? Look around for a used full-cut Viper 8)

Cartwheel and play in holes, and less concerned about speed? I'd seriously consider a Big Boy (larger version of the wheelboy). I've been VERY impressed with the Wheelboy, though my main squeeze is any one of my 10'+ squirt boats (pun intended  ). The Viper (used, or new, but if you're spending that kind of $$ I'd definitely try one first...there are a few Vipers near you as i recall, and hopefully a few showing up at the Armada .)

There are also numerous conversion options, though I'd stick with a true C1 (surprise, surprise, I know).

At your weight I suspect an Atom may be a little squirrelly-others can speak to this better than I.

Adam might be right about wheelboy.

I'm getting old and fat and at my weight 170 lbs and Wheelboy is quite perfect for big playwaves. I tihnk you will love the fatboy since it is most stable and easy to paddle.

Wheelboy will give oyu also awe performance on flat but might be bit hard for you on rivers at 225 lbs...
