mad river twister

I haven’t heard too much about these, other than seeing them in the Kent Ford solo-play boating movie, this leaves me with some questions… Are they a symmetrical hull? It looks like a fast, fun boat, I recently competed in my first slalom race, and fell in love. I also got confused as to why you would try to make a move like that. But I have a Vertige(a tank), and am looking at getting a sportier boat in the spring, a symmetrical hull would be cool, then one would be able to do moves forward or back, but I don’t know of too many 12’ plus boats that are symmetrical fast, and buoyant for a larger paddler. So if anybody has more info than the OC race boats page, that would be helpful, I’m not necessarily looking to buy, but it would be cool to know more about it.

Thanks

but Buff Grubb from Mad River loaned me a glass race boat solo so I thnk it is a twister cause the howler is for two people right ? Well anyway I got this glass race open boat and I figure about August I be so tired of the slocoee I will stick a couple of air bag in the thing and go up to the olympic course and see if I still don't mind swimming the whole thing. However if any of you all are already tired of the Ocoee give me a cll I sure buff nor mad river will mind if you borrow it.

Those are fun boats. On Saturday I was in a Cyclone (the big brother of the Twister at 15') and found it to be fast and an easy surfer. But if you really want the great OC boats look at http://www.millbrookboats.com/ . Kaz's designs are fast and maneuverable. They are asymetrical boats that LOVE a good front surf or side surf, but I don't know about that back surfin' (why would anyone want to go backwards, anyways?) in the newer boats like the Ignitor or Prowler. The big (rockered) bows on those run dry and turn fast. Take a look- these boats are great to paddle!
