Nantahala Area July 8-10
Myself, another C-boater and one prospective C-boater will be headed up to the Nantahala area the weekend of July 8-10. We'll probably hit the Nanty and maybe the Pigeon. I've got a site reserved at Lost Mine ("Cross Creek" site) that can handle a max of 8 folks. If you are interested in joining us, drop me a line.

Sounds Good
I live about 50 miles for the Pigeon and 2.5 from the Nanty. Give me a call and we can set up a trip.As you probably know the Pigeon runs from around 12 -6 T, TR, and Sat.

That's the last weekend of week of rivers. I'll be at Smokey Mountain Meadows campground with the Carolina Canoe Club. I'm not familiar w/ the Pigeon, but I'm pretty sure that some of the folks I'll be paddling with that Saturday will want to do the Nanty. I want to go park & play at Cat's Pajamas on the Ocoee either Thursday or Friday in the Acrobat. Let's get together.

One of our party has not paddled in a while, so what we paddle is what we can talk him into! And since he is about to become a Dad for the first time, he thinks it might be the last time he gets out for a while... The Nat, the Pigeon, French Broad and Chattoga Section III (II 1/2?) are possibles. Once he realizes that he still knows how to paddle after a Saturday (Saturday morning?) on the Nat he'll want to step it up
How far is it from the Nat to the Pigeon?

distance
From the Pigeon to the Nantahala is 1.5 hours. I get off of I 40 East at exit 20, Maggie Valley and head South on the Smokey Mtn. Expressway to Wesser.
Just a note, since the floods last Fall there is no longer a Snap Dragon. Also the rapid below Lost Guide no longer has the island on river right (down stream).
Nice thing about the Pigean is that multiple trips are possible. Nanty's fine to. Ocoee is always possible if you don't mind the raft traffic.
