paddling in ME next week

I may be headed to ME next week to paddle the Penobscot, Kennebec, and anything else that's running. Other possibilities for our road trip include stops in upstate New York, or possibly Quebec.

I'm just tagging along, so I haven't been in on the planning stages. I would like to hear about any rivers (or sections of rivers) that I shouldn't miss while I'm in "the neighborhood." Anything that's between Detroit and the Kennebec- and is likely to have water in late July- will be fair game.

Of course, if anyone's going to be in that neck of the woods, you're welcome to join us.

Any suggestions?

PS sadly I don't care about awesome play waves

Depends...

Depends on how you drive across. Both the Black (Watertown) and Hudson (near North River, NY, about 90 miles north of Albany) are running (dam release). For a shorter, less technical river there's also the Sac (3 miles of class II/ II+ (III if you believe the books...right.)), and the Schroon should also still be runable. Depending on when you pass through the Schroon or Sac are easily doable in an evening so I could easily join you mid-week. Weekends are more difficult, but we might be able to work something out.
