for the Green Race? preferably Small or Medium and pretty dry. Also, if anyone has a paddle (56") they'd be willing to lend me that'd be awesome. I broke mine the other day at Gorilla. I'll buy you a case of beer or whatever you would like...well, not whatever...
will

If anyone from CHarlotte is going to Brevard this weekend

Will,

what was the result at Gorilla? Too bad, I got your Cascade skirt and paddle right up here in DC. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all expect a FULL trip report of how you put the hammer down at the Green Race on Sat!

by the way, what about running Go Left in the race? I imagine that if you can run it (just from my memory of Squeeze) it's probably 5 seconds faster or something to run Go Left . . . but then again I have seen lots of carnage on videos from Go Left from guys who don't slow down for it and end up swimming or getting pinned (and that wastes a lot more than 5 seconds). Although I'm sure that move is nailable for a C-1 in the race.

good luck!

Hey Will!!!

If Eli beats you with an open boat you are buying (if you know what I mean!).
Eli knows the Green real well though (1st or 2nd to run the "notch" (or Marc Scriver)) so he's gonna' be tough to beat. (Footnote.. ask him why he ran it the first time? ha ha!)
If you beat his time I'll buy for both of you... good luck getting it out of me though cause your gonna' have to find me.
Have fun, be safe, wax a couple doupa' ridin' sissy stickers for all of us! Wish it was in my backyard so I could join y'all.

So?????

Will, What happened?????

I read that Tommy Hilleke broke the course record with a 4:34 - so obviously you didn't win???

Nope, didn't win. Got 2/2 in the C1 class, Dave Hepp beat me out by 4 seconds. My roomate Brian beat me to, that bastard, with a 5:22. I got 5:35. I am pretty happy with that, I would have done better but I got spun out below gorilla twice. Probably one of the most fun days I've had on the water, I definatly recommend coming down next year for it. We need some more C1 competition!

Are you the Alden I see on the Feeder Canal? Black Super-D?

If so and you are down there today, say "Hi" to my son. He should be working the gates this evening and he paddles an old Batmax Green Deck with Yellow Seams. He is just starting and has really taken to it.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

that's me, i will say hi if I see him. always good to see kids getting out in C-1!

(I'll try to keep the monster pivots/trash talking during workouts/discussing Gorilla or the the Green Race to a minimum - and generally try to set a good example for all the youngsters on the Feeder!)
