Looking for a C-2. Want to go racing. Would like to find something of a recent vintage. The new ones are so expensive.

Check with Davey Hearn using the link on this web site. He often has used race boats for sale on consignment. In addition to all the usual concerns in buying a used boat, don't forget to consider the cockpit offset (bow left or bow right) and how its balanced (weight of bow and stern paddlers for whom the boat was originally outfitted).

Check the used boat barn at sierra south-
www.sierrasouth.com. You'll have to scroll down a bit, but there's an unused, but older (Fanatic era?) c-2 design. I'm sure they'd love to move it. Hope that helps.....edg

Tom,
If you need one to use in the meantime until you buy one, I have the BCE club boat in my backyard in Brookmont. It is a Deadline from like 1995. Decent shape, cockpits offset, bow left.
I did a bunch of C-2 paddling this past weekend in three progressively better boats, starting with that one, then Brian Zimmerman's, and finally Trevor's (a very recent, short, Vajda). I could not believe how fast the Vajda turned. We were basically turning like a C-1 out there. Although it was definitely slower in a straight line than Brian's (a Vajda from a few years ago).
C-2 is awesome, but it's amazing how much strength it takes. I was whipped just trying to put down an edge and sling it around those upstream gates.

Alden,
I just joined BCE and am a proud holder of a "Pink Card". I am a rightie and my son is a leftie. My other son is a rightie; however, he wants to race K1 and is off to a pretty good start. I am working to pull him away from the lure of easy boating. I would like to see them both in a C2, someday....
I might just want to try that BCE club boat. I openly admit I have never paddled one. Is it a standard C1 cockpit, sprayskirt speaking?
I was looking over that Vajda boat and it looks real nice. The exchange rate is very favorable right now to go shopping for new boats as well.
Thanks for note,
Tom

I have an older vajda and I love it. It's trevor's old boat. It's been paddlin' some nice water here in NY.
