OC footwear followup

Since I asked the question, thought it was worth following up with the result.

I tried a bunch of different shoes on for all around use in an open boat, and the Nike Toketees turned out to be my pick. Thin enough to flex well for kneeling, but thick and solid enough that I can hike and rock scramble, even on sharp, blasted rock, without hurting my feet. As a bonus, they are low profile enough to fit in a decked boat when the mood strikes. Only negative to these is a rumor I heard that Nike is discontinuing them :(.

Rodeo socks and sandals now are officially retired!

BTW, these things run small. I wear a 10 street shoe, and ended up in size 11 for the Toketees. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until after a couple of days on the river. So I now own both a 10 and an 11 pair (didn't feel right exchanging shoes after they'd been used on the river). Anyone interested in the 10s? Two days of use, both days in drusuit socks (so no foot funk). omalley@ohio.edu
