Well, I was supposed to work at Garnet Hill Cross Country ski center today (I've worked there part time (or at Sunday River Inn and XC center) for 15 years now)...

BUT, it's been 50 and raining, so, unless I wanted to squeegee the trails they figured they didn't need me today...

So, I worked on the Maven:)

Outside seams are done
Cockpit rim is laid up
Thigh strap ancors are glassed in

So, what's left?
-Trimming and a bit of sanding of the cockpit rim
-Neatening up the seams, if need be
-Endpours (microspheres from Sweet Composites expected Tuesday )
-Install minicell pillars
-Install temp seat (integrated with the rear pillar, no set back yet until I figure the trim out)
-Install knee pads
-Install thigh straps (I have several sets hanging around )

I forgot the camera today, but will try and get pictures on Monday, assuming I bring the boat home then to finish it (which is my current plan)

The black seam (2 layers of 1" bias tape (15 oz nominal per layer), pigmented WEST systems epoxy) and cockpit rim really add a lot to the boat....

Today didn't turn out as planned either, but went well, I guess...i carried my chainsaw for several miles while cutting out a new cross country ski trail (FINALLY opened up...should have been brush-hogged before winter, but at least all the trees / branches there were issues are gone), and then at 4 I went and worked on the Maven:)

So, how does it look? Better than I expected, but definitely not PS standards. The seams turned out a bit funkier than I had hoped (next time I'll use clear plastic trash bags instead of saran wrap...)-I sanded them down, and will either put some fresh epoxy over them, or, more likely, black tape

Cockpit rim was a royal pain (my fault, and I knew it would happen this way...it hadn't kicked off when I left last night, was probably 'green' at 2 am (perfect time to trim it...), and was oh so rock solid at 5 pm when I started cutting it. I'd say it's the most solid part of the boat (7-8 layers of glass / epoxy will do that, eh?)

On the interior I plan on foaming it out rather completely for comeforts sake...though the cockpit is roomy for hips (moreso than a slalom cockpit, methinks), depending on where the balance point turns out to be I suspect your knees won't be quite as far apart as you might like. Not as bad as a Wildwater boat though

Right now it's outside my car in my old Boatbag that I got with the Viper....

some rough stats:
Length- a bit under 10'
Rocker- bow 5.5", stern 6" (realistically the bow will be out of the water a hair and the stern should be 6" deep) That's the intent anyway!
Width -23" or so. yup, that narrow. And it's wider than the plug

Cockpit rim height: 7.25" stern, 7.75" bow

If anyone else has any q's on the Maven, let me know. I'm still dog-sitting and not at home, but will try and get some images tomorrow evening.

I've never laid up a cockpit rim & only done one rim repair. So take this for what it's worth I laid it up one night & trimmed it w/ a random orbital sander the next night. It was easy, but I can see the potential to really mess up

Can you bring the boat bag to the Armada? I have a cover for my comp. cruiser. I've never seen one for a decked boat & have been thinking of making one. It would be great to see one so I can steal ideas
