It seems that there is not much liking for the Zoom here, so I thought I'd add this.
I've paddled two Zooms. The first I dodn't like - too twitchy, but it was outfitted a little small and I really didn't fit in. The second (newer) felt like a Phantom with edges. Really nice, a boat I could love if my Phantom dies.

Boat width (royalex) 28" from ends - 21" front & rear

Zoom 2
Pedestal - 7.25/7.5" high
Boat width (Royalex)
Front 26.5" from end - 21" wide
Rear 26.5" from end - 22.5" wide
Ash gunwales
The little extra width and different shape of Zoom 2 (plus perhaps the less weight) made the boat MUCH nicer, IMHO.
