Need suggestions from Slalom paddlers
Hi! I started racing last year- using my Ocoee. I would like to paddle a glass boat too. What suggestions do ya'll have? There is a non-race layup Edge for sale. Thanks.

If you're looking at the Edge that was posted on Boater Talk, it's 35-40lbs. That's as much as tupperware. Here is the description that was sent to me:

Thanks guys
Yep- I was looking at the one on Boater Talk- just a 2 1/2 hour drive away.
Anyone headed frm New Jersey towards the Southeast
A boat from Kaz would be great. To use it this season I would have to find a ride-assuming he has a boat available.
New Hampshire rather than New Jersey
Okay- can a Rumba race in Championship with the length less than 13 feet?

Kaz boats are awesome race boats and priced very fair for what ou get.
Lightweight Edges are hard to find (Check with Phil Foti--Alabama).
MR Twisters are fun boats too.
Although not 13-2 the Spark might be a good choice if you don't want to ever have to fix fiberglass. The boat is fast, responsive and fairly light for tupperware.

It is my understanding that any boat shorter than 3 meters (13' 2") would have to race as either a REC boat or in the X-boat class. See http://users.bestweb.net/~keech/oc-rules4.htm for the Open Boat Slalom rules.

the rumba however cool, and exciting looking as it may be, cannot race in the 'race' class, its the rear half of a race boat, making it 100% race boat, but it cant qualify.
not like i felt i really had anything to add, but the irony was there.
i like to paddle.
cheers

race boats are so fast, i bet its in the speed wing.
Rumba by posted rules should qualify
By the September 2005 Slalom rules for RAC OC1 open, masters, women, juniors (any length) the Rumba should be able to be in RAC.
