Is somebody have an experience to jump waterfals?
In this video :

OC raising side up like planning hull playboot. Is it usual thing , and I must put more weight to my paddling side to prevent that?

beereddy,
First, I hope your name means you cracked open a cold one in the pool below that falls. Anyway I gather that you are asking what you should be doing to stop the boat from popping up out of the water to one side after being submerged. Well...in my experience thats gonna happen when you get fully submerged. So, I think what you really need to be doing is some sort of boof, a stroke aimed at leveling the boat as it drops off the falls and into the pool. Look at some videos of kayaks running hairy large steaming pile of dog doo, you'll notice those guys boofing off any drop.
My other suggestion, after viewing the video, is Be Aggressive. Don't let the acceleration of the drop push you back in the saddle. I know the feeling, sometimes its difficult to expect the speed, and thus you get unbalanced a bit. Half-way down you took a stroke but I think it was a case of too little/too late, or enough but just a little too early. If you would have made that stroke closer to the edge it would have acted to lift the bow and you wouldn't have submerged.
Anyway, just some thoughts. You should be proud of your run, you made it with just a brace, who could bitch about that? Nobody on this site, certainly.

Thanks for good advices!
Actually that guy in video is Paolo Santone from Italy. But I,m from Latvia, and just found this video in net .
I dont have OC1 jet ( Pyranha Prelude coming soon for me from UK), so I just imagine how I could do this and that..
And sorry for my english

Beereddy, the line Paolo has is pretty sweet. To nail the boof stroke on that ramp is pretty hard. Also, the resurfacing of the Prelude is not the greatest IMHO. It tends to not resurface that predictable, so Paolo cranks a brace.
If you want to try to do a boof stroke like that, you want to drift at water speed into the drop and anticipate the boof stroke. So you paddle on your line and then just wait leaning forward, ready to attack. In the right fraction of a second, hammer the boof stroke in.
Boofing advice: I suggest to NOT boof an OC off of everything. There is places where you want to boof if you have to stay dry but there is also places to plug a drop. Every waterfall is different and needs a slightly adjusted angle.
A flat bottom OC lands very hard off drops. be careful to learn your lessons on small waterfalls and crank it up slow. Only boof when there is a well aerated pool. Also land tucked forward and turn your head sideways. That way you keep your momentum through the hole at the bottom and it is easier to stay in control.
Don't think that kayaks work the same way. OCs land way harder
Cheers, Jan

It is better to land balanced, but if you have to choose a side, it's better to land slightly leaning towards your paddle than away from it. Makes the brace a lot easier. Of course, when you take a big boof stroke at the top, it tends to make you leand towards your non-paddle side. Getting this all dialed takes time (I certainly haven't but I haven't got any safe waterfalls to practise on around here) and I agree with Jan...start small.
Cheers,
Matt
PS. and call me if you ever come to Switzerland to paddle

jan you mentioned sometimes to 'plug' a drop is better, or suggested, what does that mean?
cheers

I mean to melt it or go deep. Nose first kind of thing.
I broke my back on a 25 to 30 foot fall in a Quake
accidentally landing flat
Running falls is all about controlling your angles while falling. That boof stroke at the lip can do all sorts of things. You can use it to go off flat, or just about any other angle. It's a good thing to play around with it. Try different angles on your favorite fall. While free falling, your abs play an important role in controlling the boat.
Also tuck in forward. I find in almost about any situation I can think of, being on my front deck helps me staying in control better. Doesn't matter if you melt or boof or whatnot.
Cheers, Jan
