Inspired by the photos of Jennifer in her Atom... what's the deal with paddling in Mexico?

I have friends who canoe with Costa Rica Rios every winter, so I know that's doable.

Matt & Jennifer or others - where do you go in Mexico, and what are the logistics for boats, shuttles, etc.?

We live in Dallas Texas, so for our trip we drove our own car down. Ours was a short trip with two full days of driving and 3 days of paddling. Check out the website below for more details about what paddling is available in Mexico and the logistics of flying in. We did not use them as guides, but we camped at their place near Cascadas Micos. Give them a call. I think they can help you.

If you decide to go, I think you will love it. The food was good, the paddling was great and the people were very friendly. We will definitely be going back next Christmas.

If you go a bit farther down south in mexico (the veracruz, guerreo, puebla and estado de mexico) I’ll be delight to show you around. It would be grate to paddle with some one that doesn't need the extra blade. As for logistics I have no idea on flying but know for a fact that any thing the size of a phantom or bigger won’t fit on the under compartment of a line bus, but most drivers will let you tie it on the roof. Also for shuttles, put in and put outs you can find some one who might transport you in their own pick up in most of the rivers. If any one makes it to this side of the border plese let me know.
