Sad news...

Well, someone busted into my barn last weekend. I know they took something, as they used a Slasher to "sled" it out the road (year round road ends 1 mile from my barn...you'd THINK things would be safe in the winter...). I suspect it was high school kids as they also tipped over a few port-a-potties that STILL haven't been picked up from my wedding in the fall.

I believe all the boats are there, but will be heading up tomorrow to bring them all down here (I had planned to anyway, once our garage addition was done, but that isn't until August 1st...).

So, it looks like I'll be builidng a boat rack of some sort in the near future to store them all, with tarps to keep the sun, snow, and ice off.

sigh.

I suspect I'll figure out what they walked off with half way through the summer (the barn has a lot of misc. things in it from work there, not to mention the wedding...).

If any boats are missing, I'll post. At least I have images of most of them 8)

P.S. "Certain boats" are down here anyway (Maven, Mastercut Acro, Groove, Hornet, Fanatic II, and Ace III) for various and sundry reasons.

Well since you dont value the slasher, perhaps when you find these $@&*@@ kids you can stick it in a hole of the non-aquatic type.

POX on them and their mis-deads!

Let the missing items return and hopefully the Slasher is okay (as well as your faith in other humans).

Major bummer my boat'n brother!

Hey Adam, you're probably (& reasonably so) pretty ticked about right now. Don't let it effect your lay-up this weekend. Think deep thoughts & build an awesome boat

Theft of any kind really makes a person feel extremely violated. I hope you get your goods back. In Turkey.... well you know what happens to thieves in Turkey! Call your insurance company... this is the reason why we pay insurance, and exactly why we pay too much for it.

Thank you all for your kind words...We're headed up shortly.

When I get the rack done (later this week, I hope) I'll try and post a picture. It will be interesting seeming most of the "collection" in one place for once...

Regarding insurance, if it's on a seasonal road, which isn't plowed (hence "seasonal"), you can't get it.

I suspect I'll toss up a few "posted" signs while I'm there, as there is a stack in back somewhere from years gone by. I hate posted signs though. I don't have a problem with folks taking shelter in the bottom of the barn...as long as they don't mess with stuff in the rest of it!

I suspect moving the collection around (and touching every single boat) will put me in the right move for laying up an awesome Maven 8) .

Thanks again....
