I am on the search for info perfecting skills in my OC1.

I currently own Kent Ford DVD's Drill Time and Solo Playboating but are there any other titles which provide good descriptions of techniques?

I live in the UK so not all titles will be avaiable for me perhaps, but the search will continue if you can also post links to where i can buy the titles from that would be really helpful.

Thanks

Colin

I have to agree, I just got a copy of it, and it's a really great video. Tom Foster works a lot on the forward stroke (on and offside) and carving circles. The link "fez" gave is good.

Another option

Another option is paddling books...the Mason "Path of the Paddle" and "Thrill of the Paddle" are some of the best out there, as is the BCU (British Canoe Union) tome.

Snyder's Squirt book is great for squirt moves, and William Nealy's work ("Kayak", "Whitewater Tales of Terror", etc..) is instructive and amusing...especially the "Cboater Pain Scale"

Now Colin,

The chapter in the BCU Handbook is well written (!!!!), but because of limited space rather short. Thrill of the paddle is pretty good though.

Do not underestmate the Drill Time stuff; particularly the flat water foundation skills. These skills are the basis for good white water boating.

The best way to improve, however, is good coaching.
