LEW's Maven...slight issue...

As I mentioned to LEW Monday night, there is a slight issue with his boat.
Namely, it's prettier than mine!
It still needs to be seamed (he or he and I will be playing at that when he has time), but here are a few teaser images...it's a SWEET layup, and the hull and deck are really sharp.
Keep the C!

Hey LEW, how can you look at that boat & NOT SMILE??? I'd be jumping up & down & grinning from ear to ear
Great looking boat. I like the color combo, even thought there's not enough red
It'll look like a rainbow when you're doing cartwheels
Are black hulls making a comeback?

I'm surprised that the boat floats, there appears to be about 4 gallons of volume in the whole hull. just keep movin eh.
looks awesome though.
black boats are making a comeback,
cause they are like pirate ships

IT IS A REALLY HOT LOOKING BOAT!!!
There is about 1/4" cut in the center and 1/2" in the ends.
S. did a very nice job with the layup. What does not show in the photos is the carbon/kevlar hybrid cloth in the hull. So it is not actually as black as it appears in the photos. He got the weave lined up perfectly.
I expect to have her taped and ready to do the inside seams on Friday. I may try to paddle something in the morning and then do the work in the afternoon. I'll wait until Li'l D can help me with the outside, four hands will be much better than two for that job.
I am going to try to mix some metalflake into the outside seams too.
I think Mike is going to get a "little woody" over this boat!

Dude!.... I am so impressed!
You should be dam'n proud! If I wouldn't have that boat trashed in 20 minutes I'd get one in a heartbeat.... maybe Kim will let me hang one above the baby's bed?

that is an awesome looking boat, and i would love to try one.
i know that it would be alot easier to do enders than my slalom boat.
yes scott, more like a knife than a boat, it's funny though, i have a nickname in minnesota of knifeman due to the knife i used to carry on my life jacket. (a mechete that i cut a pattern into to hang on my knife holder on my vest.
cheers

Hey LEW, have you had the Maven in the water yet?

Mike,
No not yet.
I just finally finished the seams and cockpit rim Friday night. I'm trying to do as nice a job as I can. That has not been easy, since I have absolutely no experience!
The next step will be to put in a loose saddle and float test to determine where to locate the saddle and the rest of the outfitting.
I do hope to have her ready to actually paddle by the end of this week. She will be at the Armada.
I really think you are going to like this boat!!
, though Adam say's the next one is going to be even nicer.
