Anyone got experience with the new molded t-grip that Werner is putting on their Bandits these days? Is it any better than the wood one?

I ordered a Bandit recently, and when it arrived it was a wood grip model. Just wondering if it's worth the hassle of requesting an exchange...

Wooden grip is great

I have one that has been wretched out of my hands twice by paddle snakes, gone done some narly creeks and in great shape. The lines look nicer than the new plastic.

Cool

I'm not that hard on paddles anyway, and I guess with the wood one, if I hate the profile, I can always do some custom carving.

I prefer the new molded Tgrips. The wood ones had a tendency to dry rot (due to lack of user maintenance no doubt) and once left me in a horrible predicament in the middle of a large rapid where I needed every bit of control I could get. The Tgrip just exploded in my hand. So I think the new ones are definatly more durable and probably worth the upgrade. So long as the don't come unattatched from the paddle...
