Solo L review

Well Matt/Jan, (Matt I know this is late since you just got that Burn)
I finally installed the c1 saddle on Tuesday, and got to paddle the Solo today. Background, the hardest water I paddle is class IV, and Wilson Creek is the steepest water I've been on at 95fpm, so by no means am i some expert creeker. (I'd like to step it up some this year)
OH! the water was super low on Wilson creek -11 from paddling 0. Anyway, I started off spinning the boat with my first forward stroke. The boat turns with lightning speed, at least with the water as low as it was today that ability to spin was amazing. Virtually every rock jumble required turning as your bow passed the rock- There weren't any holes today, maybe Joe S might be able to answer this; but I think there stern might get grabbed if you arent going fast enough, my thoughts just from playing around.
I think the resurfability would be excellent- the rocker seemed to launch the boat forward instead of penciling
the only complaint I had was it seemed a little slow-at least slower than expected- the 2' shorter I3 and the solo seemed to have about the same speed. I'm guessing the rocker and ability to turn diminishes speed- The Gus and Micro both seemed faster, but at least for the turns required today I really had a good time in the Solo.
