Hello. How do I find the Dog Days Slalom race site? Anyone know? How's the water level?
Thanks.

It is held on the Sunnyside WW Training site in Bellefonte, PA. I usually take I-80 west to the Milesburg exit (NOT the Bellefonte exit, which takes you through the middle of town from the wrong side). From the Milesburg exit I follow the signs south through Milesburg toward Bellefonte. As you enter Bellefonte you'll see Tussey Mountain Outfitters on the right. The race site is literally behind the store, but access is usually from the other side of Spring Creek. Head past Tussey Mountain Outfitters and take the next right turn. Drive just one block past the old mill building (on left, now a restaurant I believe) to the "T" intersection and turn right (a mini-mart gas station is on your right at the intersection). Just a block down the road, at a 90 degree left turn, head straight on a small non-descript road that quickly heads downhill and also to the left. You'll see a big manufacturing plant to the left and a rail yard to the right. Cross the tracks and go over a small bridge to another "T" intersection & turn right. Sunnyside is around a left hand bend when you can see Spring Creek over the railroad tracks. You'll see a couple of porta potties next to the pedestrian crossing over the tracks to the race site.
I don't have my slalom info with me in the office today, so I can't give you all the route numbers, but can bring it in tomorrow. I also have copies of the entry form. Let me know if you want me to send those to you via fax or perhaps scanned & e-mailed.
Spring Creek is spring fed and runs year-round. It is always shallow in some spots, but has enough water in the right areas to always be paddleable. Hanna and I used to train there daily year-round.
See you at the race!
John

Tussey Mt. Outfitters
If you're interested in the slalom since its this weekend it would probably be best to contact Ed at TMO at 814-355-5690. He can give you all the info. I think he does do late registration on Saturday.
Hope to see you there,
Natalie
