US freestyle team trials are coming up on wednesday on the Ottawa, and there seems to be some confusion/question/debate over whether or not OC-1 trials will be part of it or done at a later date/other location. I'm in favor of doing them with the rest of the team trials, since I'm here, and hauled my OC boat up for the purpose of doing the trials. I talked with Kristine Jackson today, and she said there were some others who were registered/interested in doing the trials here as well, but others were interested in doing them elsewhere. One possibility she brought up was to select one boat here, and one at another event. Either way, we need to decide soon how to do it. So who's interested, and who wants to do them where and when?

I talked to Eli at the Open Boat Nationals this weekend and he said that the oc-1 team trials would either be at Rock Island during the World Cup or held at hades Hole later this fall.

I talked with Kristine again today, and based on 1) The fact that some talk had been made of doing an alternate trials, 2) Nothing firm being set and made known as far as doing an alternate trial, and 3) the fact that the "normal" team trials were orginally planned and advertised for "all classes except squirt" (the squirtboaters planned their own team trials last winter for this fall at the Gauley) that the best thing to do would be to select one of the spots for OC1 here, and have an alternate trial to select he other boat. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes here, but I feel like this is a fair compromise to solve the confusion/questions.
