That show freakin sucked!
Whoopdee doo so he droped 10ft out of a chopper into the top drop.
What's the freakin' point? He should have run the whole thing from the dam down.
And that Jeb Corliss guy just pisses me off,WTF?
so you base jump big Frickin' deal.Grow some hair!
and how come Producers feel like they have to actually be in the show.Your job is to produce! so get your aged butt behind the camera, shut your freakin trap, and come up with some better S#@T than that. You can see sicker stuff on almost any paddlin video.BETTER YET,
Go get a single blade, cram into an uncomfortable piece of plastic or glass, and be a Real man.
Bunch of Fags.....

Yeah! You go get 'em "Squeaky"! Gotta agree with you about Tao's waterfall run. My wife and I were alternating between that show and "30 Days". Well, we got tired of all the dialogue and building of anticipation that we gave up on Discovery Channel and stuck with "30 Days" for the rest of the time. Not to take anything away from Tao, he IS an extreme person. I personally can care less about watching another attempt to break another "world record". :-? Better to have run the rapids from the dam, like Shawn said.

What do I think would be fun to watch in regards to waterfall running? A bunch of c-1'ers, open boaters, and a plastic c-2 (with occupants  ) taking on the "miniscule" 18 foot drop in Ohiopyle this Saturday. :D Anyone available to videotape it?

I couldn't stay up late enough to watch last night so I taped it. I just watched it & boy-o-boy, what a waste of tape! The only thing worse than the but boater who can't hang on to his paddle was that the Mythbusters eppisode was the one where they ruined a 'vette w/ a rotting pig carcase  That tape will get recorded over!

Would've been better if he went off the drop and landed in the helicopter...think about how many waterfalls would be opened up....Victoria anyone?

dudes just progressing the sport, I am not, nor are many people to his level, he's just drawing more attention to the boating world, which in turn could mean more c-boaters as they figure out what the cool kids do. plus, if I was making as much bank as tao was from boating, I would go from a helicopter, and run some falls.

I haven't seen the tape, but I did get the C1 challenge in yesterday...
cheers

Have not seen the video, I don't even have TV. Don't really care either. Tao is a very good boater though and has incredible skill. I can't beliebe that he always lands on his hull, like a cat thrown out of a 3rd floor window (I have never done this!). It takes a lot of skill to do all this large steaming pile of dog doo, if you think it's not cool, noone forces you to watch.

So I guess I'm with Isaac. Besides, who cares? Stop watching, turn that dam TV off and get out, run some drops, do some gates or surf a wave and it's all good.

I gotta say though, that Wills idea of landing in a heli is pretty good.

Happy paddling, Jan
