Video Recording and Paddling Movies

The family decided to buy a Sony Mini-DV camcorder this year. So far, it has been a lot fun filming my kid's downhill mountain bike races and a few of our paddle adventures.
To inteface the Camcorder, I bought an IEEE-1394 card that came with ULead VideoStudio software, basic 7.0 edition. I soon learned that I needed to upgrade to the full blown 10 + version, if I wanted to burn DVDs.
A couple of things, have you ever seen a video of you paddling? Seeing myself paddle has really made me more aware of my mistakes and paddling technique. I am really looking forward to working on my game and see if I improve on next years recordings.
I am also curious if anyone uses VideoStudio or any other movie editing software? It has been a real challenge to learn VideoStudio. The program is a powerful editor; has very bad documentation; and little support. It is amazing how time flys when learning, editing and working with that software! I did find a users forum that has been great help to making this software work for me.
So now I have paddling strokes and video recording/editing skills to improve upon!
