In going from the Rampage to the Outrage X, did MR change anything other the name?

Thanks, PY.

The Rampage and Outrage X have nothing in common except ABS. The ORX is a longer, less rockered OR designed to be more forgiving for the larger paddler.

I would put it the other way around. The Rampage is flatter-bottomed, fuller in the ends, almost to the point that it could work as a tandem for smaller crews. The Outrage X is narrower, rounder, reasonably forgiving, but faster on a slalom course.

At the Gull Slalom this wekend there was an ORX outfitted for tandem use. It worked well if both paddlers were light. Fast and responsive. VERY wet with two big guys.

My wife and I have a Rampage outfitted Tandem. It's a great boat for us (total weight about 250lbs).

The Rampage is a refrigerator box trying to look like a boat. Blech!!

The Outrage X is an awful lot like the Outrage...only bigger. Mmmmm!

Exactly ! I always thought the middle 6' or so was like a big box with these big blunt ends stuck on the end. I think that was a contemporary of the big ole XL's and Whitesells and maybe that is where they were going with that...

A big water boat then. I've seen the xl taken down the Upper You. Well I may get mine out of mothball.
