Just received my Spanish Fly. Since my Fly is open (Sorry, couldn't resist a really bad pun), I was thinking about putting in an electric pump system. I'm familiar with what Esquif is putting in their boats. Anyone out there come up with a setup in their Fly?

Hey i have a pump in my skeeter. I have the pump on the ground behind the saddle. There is a section in the side towards the back for the battery which slides in and out of the foam with a strap holding it in place and on top of the saddle behind my back i have a switch. The hose goes to a hole drilled on the side of the boat about three quarters of the way to the back of the boat. I really like having the pump even though it is seen as easy criticism by some people they are really just jealous
Good Luck

Was thinking about doing the pump thing to my S.Fly. Spoke to several "naysayers", however I don't see how it would hurt.
My tenative design would be to place a small 1100 gph pump into a 4" ABS pipe, and place the battery in the space above. The pipe would be long enough to go from the hull to the underside of the bag cage.
The whole assembly could then be strapped to the back of the saddle.
The switch may be either mounted on the pipe or separately on the front thwart.
As for the bilge pipe, I would just run it through the bag cage and out the side. No need to cut through the hull.
On the other hand, you could just add some more closed cell foam.
Have fun.
