Hi all,
I just purchased a new Robson Homes, but the floatation bags were missing. Any idea where I can get the Robson bags in the states? I'd really like their bags if I can find them. Thanks. Renee

Renee,
How'd you manage to get a Holmes? Is yours the first one in North America? It's the first one I've heard of!
found it in Cheyenne, WY

at Sierra Trading Post in the Bargin Barn area. It was never on their online site. Right place, right time, I guess. The bags were with it when we saw it, but I went home, waited 3 weeks and called to see if it was still available. It was, minus the bags. They shipped it to me in AL.
I started out as an open boater many moons ago and paddled an Encore, then a kevlar Edge (a heavy duty layup special made for me by Rodney Morgan). Swapped to kayak about 10 years ago. Am not sure where Sierra Trading Post got the boat, but I knew I had to have it when I saw it.

Those bags are way to small for a whitewater OC1 IMHO, they are intended as end bags for tandem tripping boats..
My guess is that a bag around 60ng is probably tright for the Homes. Measure the distance from the ends of the boat to the saddle, that will give you an ida about how big a saddle you need.

Keep an eye out at Sierra Trading Post - that is where I got the last couple of sets I bought. Those were Harmony brand, but they work! Not sure of the odds of getting Robson OC-1 bags...

I think that is the second one sold in the US- I heard the demo/display was sold at the Utah outdoor retail tradeshow. I thought the MSRP was $2400.00????
Renee
Are you going to be at GAF? I'd love to check it out- My buddy and I had been talking about that boat for a year or two.

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't answered the questions. I will say that I didn't pay $2400 for the boat. I got it for less than half of that. I don't think Sierra Trading Post knew what they had in that boat. I was in the right place at the right time.
I'm not sure if I'll be at GAF. Even if I am, I probably won't have the boat with me until I can get some floatation bags. And I really don't want yellow.
I tried to post a picture, but it didn't take. So, pictures of the boat are at this link:

Maybe the pictures will answer some of the questions about the hull and such.
I'll try to be more prompt about questions. Thanks. Renee

That was an awesome video of the rescue and the Robson Homes upside down. Who was the boater and what country was that footage from? Clearly that guy is one of a handful of people in the world running Class V+ creeks in an open canoe.

This Film is from Bavaria, Germany, the event is on the famous Rissbach creek. The paddler who runs the creek most often this day is the winner (25 times this year). It's yearly organized by AKC (Alpine Kayak Club) Germany. Usually open boaters take the last eddy upstream the gorge, it's class 3 until there. It's also the first time for me that I saw and heard of an open boat there. I don't know who the paddler is, maybe it's Robert from Robson (I'm going to ask).
Here's a small film of the Homes on the Vorderrehein, Switzerland:

and here you can see the chines in a previous post:

I asked Wolfram Bock who made the film who it was but he didn´t know. But he said that the rider made the first 5 m Drop (that is not shown in the film) without problems.
I watched the sequence over and over. Is this Homes really made of Armerlite ? I´m missing the structure of the material. Maybe one cannot see it... But a Homes made of PE would be a very interesting option ! Cheaper and durable.
