does anyone make thwarts about 27" wide? I need a set for a dagger canoe I'm rebuilding.
most of the ones I've found were around 36" wide, making the narrowest part of the thwart just about where I would have to mount it to the gunwale.
the picture actually looks better than it is, that thing is about to fall off the boat.
anyone make narrow open canoe thwarts?

Why not just trim off the extra? Or get a piece of hardwood
Just trim evenly from either side. I also used oak, it is heavy but strong.

Yeah, I just make 'em up too.
Depending on the shape of the hull when you will install them you may want to shape the ends of the thwat a bit to fit the boat shape.
