I picked up one for cheap this summer and would like to get some info on how it paddles. I have not had a chance to really paddle it yet. Yes, I know it an older play boat. I am interested in knowing what other paddlers think about it.
I have set it up with new Mike Yee outfitting.

I noticed your post has been out here a while with no replies. This board is visited by a lot Esquif reps so I doubt youll get much response. They dont like to even mention other Mfg's in a positive way. So here you go: I used to have 2 of them and liked them a lot. Rolled easy. Some people leveled the bow and stern to make them easier to ender too. Not a beginners boat fot sure. Be aggressive and it will shine

I don't the think the comment about Esquif reps was a fair one. I'd argue that the discussion about Esquif's boats has much more to do with the fact the company has put out exciting new boats several seasons in row, including testing new materials.
If another manufacturer was doing that, even a tiny bit, there'd be positive talk about them too.
Also, credit to reps for actually identifying themselves as such. And in this industry, people who sell, rep and build boats tend to know what they're talking about, so I'm glad they're on the forums. Plus, it's all just Internet opinion, so take it with a grain a salt anyway. Finally, the last comment I recall by an Esquif rep was actually a negative review of an Esquif boat.
If you search the site I'm sure you'll find lots of positve comments about Mohawk and Vipers, I just don't think the Rodeo was a very common boat (at least not where I am). Also, not selling retail and having regional reps was Mohawk's choice, as a result they don't have reps all over and their boats don't make it to all corners.
If a local Mohawk rep brought a trailer of demo boats around to my canoe club or to a festival, awesome, I'd try 'em all! As it is, I've never seen a Rodeo on the water.
So rep-schmep, maybe it's just hard to get lots of comments an old, uncommon boat?

If you can find an old issue of AWA or Canoe, Mohawk had an ad with a shot of Dale Johnson running Gorilla on the Gnarrows of the Green in one. Not sure if that means anything except that Dale could run one down the Green...

Had one and liked it
They are very edgy. Great boats for creeking. Very wet in big water.
And- I am not an Esquif rep. I do appreciate what Esquif is doing for the sport! I met the guy who bought Mohawk and wish to give kudos to him. It's great not to lose a line of boats for beginner thru expert paddler. BTW My favorite Mohawk is the Probe 12 II.
