WS Big EZ to C1?

I'm not the worlds greatest OC paddler but I'm not the worst and I would like to look at making the jump to C1 conversions. So with that said would it be worth my time to convert a Wavesport Big EZ to a C1 or is it to short to start in?

I know my spec's count in this equation so I'm about 190-5 and 6'3".

Thanks for the help.

The length is not the main obsticle to overcome in moving from OC to the Big EZ, width (or lack of) is the big thing. It's 25.5" wide, which is a big change from most OC's. The lack of length will mainly effect the speed. You'll find that you won't be able to make some of those must make ferries that you could easily make in the OC. On the upside, the lack of length makes it easy to throw either end down :P

I love my Big EZ for play. It's great on a steep wave. The drawback is that it's slow. At my skill level I wouldn't paddle it on anything harder than the Ocoee. The great thing about Wave Sport is that they have a nice big cockpit openning so you've got plenty of room for your legs. Coming from an OC, you'll have to slow down your roll or you'll just go back over the other side. The good thing about that is that it's the easiest boat I've ever tried to roll. I've changed the outfitting since the photos were taken. It now reflects my Forplay outfitting:
