I like it a lot!
Granted, coming form a freestyle kayak background I liked the idea of an open canoe sized like a modern playboat. I even thought about building one based my Flirt but then again, I'm good at fixing boats but have never built one.
Awesome and I think there will be a few people interested. Too bad I live in Europe

Is it good for "tripping"?... hee hee!
Looks like it has a "bit" more end rocker, appears narrower than the CU and the cockpit is quite a bit more open than the Salsa. Looks like fun buddy!
Edit your post and add some specs.
well..

Nice looking little bugger!
From the picture (here and your site) you pulled it clean and outfitted it nicely! I'd like to see some close ups - or better yet see it in person!
Now we need the specs! LOL
Have any kids been in it yet to give it a try? Looks like it could work for them!
Where were the pictures taken?
Good luck at the worlds and keep us posted on how things go!

PS: The Squirt boat looks cool too!

Specs?!? you mean I have to measure it?
Alright-
Length: 6'6" (it fits in the back of my truck
)
depth: 16"
width:28.5"
open length: 42"
open width : 19"
Rocker (to seam, bow and stern):11"
Planing surface length: 42.5"
Planing surface width (at widest point): 20
outfitted weight: 35lbs
Volume: No idea
Layup is 4/5 glass/kevlar, vacuum bagged, with some unidirectional carbon ribs
I'm having so gelcoat issues with it- it's chipping off in big pieces. but I suspected i would, so I pigmented the first layer of epoxy black, so it doesn't look as bad.
Pictures are from Maryland Chute on the Potomac... and my driveway
Shweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I second that on the specs...length, width, depth? Badass outfitting.
Ooops, you wrote em while I was asking

Thanks for the lowdown. Let us know if you produce any to sell and if possible bring it to the Lenoir City C-Boat fest in March. I'm sure there are many of us who would love to lovingly stroke it and perhaps even try it in the water!

Way to go on the new boats and the sponsorship! The Blackfly looks awful fun! Doubt I'll be able to make it to Louies gig, but would love to catch up with you when I'm up your way sometime.

NICE!!!
Great job on the boat:) As others have been stated, I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there that would love to try it out at an Armada
Nice name too...though the black flies around here would easily carry it off in the spring

Sweet boat
I'll bet it's a hoot to paddle. I can't imagine how cool it's got to be, paddling a boat that you designed

I'm not going to make it down for the Lenoir City thing
I'll be in Uganda surfing. But I am talking a C-1 with me....
I figured "Blackfly" was a fitting name, since I really designed it for Buseater, and they're apparently pretty nasty at the Ottawa in the spring...

Why did you post this on a site dedicated to farming?
www.chasin_grain.com
Nifty boat. And it has wood gunnels! That should appeal to the open boat 'purists' out there

It's not farming... it's grain as in grain alcohol
Nice one

That boat looks really nice. Kinda reminds me a bit of a scaled down version of my cut n shut Spanishfly I used at the Worlds in Oz back in 2005. That thing used to pop on loops and I nearly landed a few but it's hard work that's for sure. Good for cleans though
Is it time to start seeing full on air moves in an OC1 on bussy? I think it's going to be an interesting one that's for sure and result in more than a couple of injuries!! I was almost tempted back out of retirement....
