OK I believed I mastered an good brace, but I still need to know how to roll. Yesterday on whitetop I had a great low brace that got me through the junk, but once in the pool of calm water I could not figure out how to roll back up. Is the a video that anyone could recommond for this, I don't have many OC-1 paddlers in the area and if they do they don't roll. And also is a Nitro a good boat to learn to roll in?

if you scroll down or search AJ wrote a great description not long ago, and I am sure there are a few clips in the video forums that have rolls in them. You mention not having many other OCs in the area, where are you? Keep practicing, you'll get it.

has a great rolling sequence.
For my money SP is the best open canoe instructional video ever made.

I live in the southeast US, very few open boats maybe 1 for every ten buttboaters. I get razed alot but they love to open boats run big drops. I try to watch the video maybe in town, I only have dail-up here at home.

Here is a vid that has a pretty decent shot or two of me in my wheelboy rolling, the set up and roll is the same for my openboat, just requires more effort.

The 1st boat I rolled was my old Nitro, I found it easier than all of the OC-1's I had tried/owned in the past. I had an outrageX before it and could never get it. the first trip in my Nitro I got it right away( may have had something to do with the Nantahala being WAY colder than my home river) I miss my Nitro in alot of ways, It will get you through just about anything.
