as far as i know, there is no such thing as a fatboy. Bigboys and wheelboys only...

Larry is correct- I've asked Drakkar recently about the fatboy and haven't gotten a reply.

Marko used to haunt this forum... I guess the lack of response is telling on the likliehood of any new drakkar boats. Too bad.. was looking fwd to the bigboy/fatboy

I just had a reply from Marko yesterday concerning a Wheelboy for demoing. So he is still out there, alive and kicking...

Because I have enjoyed paddling my Wheelboy so much, I am ready to buy a Fatboy, sight unseen. Marko and crew did such a fine job in designing and building this C1 playboat (ie, Wheelboy). The momnet you get it on the water, you just know that it was built for C1ing, and will take you as far as your skills allow.
I am sure that the same design skills will carry over to the Fatboy, and I sure need a plastic creeker, but alas, I think the economics of building boats for such a small market, have probably dampened if not killed the enthusiasm of the Drakkar group. It is too bad, that the C1 community is too small and, relatively, too thin in the wallet to support plastic C1 builders.

I was willing to put cash down for a boat upfront to help get the mould made and I heard from atleast a half dozen others thinking the same, but we never heard back form Marko. I know a mould is expensive and they have to sell a bunch of boats, but I'd think a creekboat would have a longer lifespan than a playboat....It's a bummer because Marko had some great ideas, but they need to convert into boats we can touch. I recall Bliss Stick got around some of the problem of mould cost in early years by hiring a mould maker - that worked out cheaper than paying someone to make the moulds for them.
Anyway, I've still got my Wheel Boy and I like it a lot, but after waiting 2 years I gave up and bought a kayak to convert, so now I'm out of the market...unless I don't like the conversion that is

They could rotomold them in a f/g mold. Mold doesn't last as long and requires more maintence... but it can be done. I'm going to speculate and guess his molder doesn't want to mess with one though. Molds are extremely expensive and I'm guessing he'd have to sell and import around 100 just to get close to the break-even point on his investment. So it isn't like 20 people saying they would "probably" buy one is encouraging him to lay his personal cash on the line... and if I had to guess... I'm betting he is still paying for the wheelboy mold. Sad but true... and I wish him the best in his endeavors.

If it would be cheaper it would be nice to do a boat such as the Fatboy in the same material that the Spark is made from. Only drawback would be the slight leak that that material has, maybe a flexible coating on the interior would take care of it.

What about getting the plug to someone like Shaggy, and have them co-release it? 
I'd be in for a kevlar/glass boat too!
Shaggy boyz frequent this forum - hopefully they'd see this, and be able to respond to the willingness of it - It would be a shame to let a good design like that go to waste.
