The Habitat 80 is very easy to roll, boofs well, and the most forgiving boat that I have paddled. I can't grade it on resurfacing because I could not get it to completely submerge. It slides over a hole like the Jefe.
The only thing that I did not like about this boat was that you have to control the boat from the stern. The chines can be initiated from the hip towards the stern and they worked really well when I would remember to use them. If you try to control the boat from the bow it has a tendacy to drift more than I like. I weigh 170#.
I think that most current model boats are good designs. Its the paddler that developes a style that needs to be fit. This is why it is so important to demo boats when possible.

Re: Habitat 80 on the water
Hey Bernie, couldn't agree more. Every recent creeker I have tried was a good boat. The boat needs to fit style and one just has to get used to the boat. Once I have spent more than, say, 20 days in a boat, it's my "favourite" boat.Bernie wrote:I think that most current model boats are good designs. Cheers, Jan
