FYI, saw a strainer notice for the NB on another board.

Forgive me for not knowing the names of the rapids on the Bloomington section of the north branch.

While paddling this today, near the top of the run, a very large strainer (read medium sized tree) broke free from the bank and made its way down river. It finally stopped at the bottom of the rapid that is two rapids above Blue Hole. It is situated right in the middle, such that the safe line now is to eddy hop down the left bank. It is passable on the right as well, but the water on that side pushes right into the tree, so don't try it unless you know you can make it.

If they raised the release level again (it was 2,000 CFS when we took out), this might have moved farther down stream, but it was still there when we were running return shuttle.

Just wanted to pass this on, as I know this is a popular stretch. So in two weeks, at the next big whitewater release, take care as you head down and watch out for a large strainer where you might not expect it.
