Seat from Home Depot

What about this gardening seat from Home depot? Durability might be an issue. Also, is the price cheaper than the plastic pedestals that are coming out? Has anyone tried something like this? Always looking for new ways to spice things up.

The only problem with that is you've got to brace it from side to side at its surface level unless you do some fancy stuff. Too low for the feet to safely exit.
Mine's nicer

I also use a trimmed-down version of that in my slalom C1. The flange height matches the height of the cockpit combing. To make it easier for me to get out in an emergency (which would never happen, right?), the seat sits in a cradle attached to the combing and lifts up a couple of inches, restrained by a hinge and a bungie.

The seat bottom ends up about 5.5" above the hull bottom.
