I have just picked up my brand new Jackson Allstar. Have any of you guys converted one yet?
I was alarmed to find after removing the seat that the area where it mounts to the hull is far too flexible to use as a mounting point for bolting my straps in.....
I did find a conversion on the Jackson web site but I don't have the luxury of a plastic seat pan.
So ideas or pictures would be welcome....I do believe that this is going to make a superb C1 playboat.

I'd try the "fence rail" conversion...
I'd try the fence rail conversion, and perhaps add extra alumiminum stays.

Another option would be the TEAM ETC conversion using a sheet of plastic.

I had not seen that conversion discussion on the Jackson website before. For anyone interested here it is:

Looks to me like it is derived off the old Dagger Pedestal system. I wish Dagger or someone would make a few of these as they do make easy conversions. Sometimes you can find them used, perhaps if you buy and old Atom or Cascade you can poach they pedestal from it and do whatever you desire with the hull.

Well the Allstar is now fitted for action....The boat has had a trial outing for trim etc and has had the conversion "solidified"
It is superb on the water. Due to the lack of ridgidity in the side seat mounts I have made a cosy bulkhead and just use a lapstrap. I have also utilised the factory hip pads which work very well and are fully adjustable with the Velcro tape system.
I can send some pictures if anyone wants to post them but have no web site to do so......Yet
