Anyone own a retail version of one of these, besides people connected to Esquif?

I've heard rumors that it's available for purchase, just wondering if they're true.

Sorry Heidi, I didn't see your question before I left for the demo.

I did ask Eli about the Salsa though and got the super secret hidden news on it that either no one knows or is willing to share.

Apparently Esquif decided 6 months ago that a plastic version will be available in 2 years....reportedly they have been getting side tracked with other projects, like bob footes' new turd...err boat (my personal opinion, not Eli's)

Kinda depressing, the company that is looked to for pretty much all new canoe designs doesn't care a lot about getting their new freestyle boat out to market in a timely manner. Prototyped at the 2005 worlds, ?prototyped? again at the 2007 worlds....production 2009. Outstanding innovation, paddle yesteryears model next year.

I plan on writing a letter to Jacques asking him to start production sooner, will it do any good, who knows but it will at least show that there is a market of one out there. Maybe if some other folks looking to get a Salsa would contact them also then it may show a bigger market for the boat.

Hopefully the production date will be moved up. It's sad after getting excited seeing all the footage from the Worlds showing what was possible in the new freestyle open boat designs only to find out that everyday paddlers can't own one. Hopefully I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Heck, maybe Jackson will think the gap in the market is worth filling and produce their Ton-of-fun, although I'd rather have an Esquif.

I second that. I'm really interested in getting into a salsa, it looks pretty sweet. I'd save my pennies if I knew I could get my hands on one. What's the e-mail so I can harass the esquif folks into dusting off the mold?

As much as you guys would like to get into salsa's and have them in plastic production asap...from esquifs standpoint, they are sure as hades going to sell way more of bob's new boat then a specialized rodeo oc1. Hence we they would rather push that before hand. From a business standpoint, it makes sense.

It would be nice if they were a little more timely on production, but be glad enough that there is actually one company out there that is still continuing to revolutionize the open boat market, and keep us on your toes with new great designs... can you say that about any other whitewater canoe company?

Yeah, the paddling community was begging for a Nitro with edges or a Zephyr with a blunt nose designed by someone who about as far removed from modern canoeing as one can get. Enter the paradigm, innovation at it's finest but I guess there are a good ammount of old dried up foote fans out there that will gladly slap down some cash to have a boat with his name on it,even if it is a dug-out turd.

If the boat isn't going to be made then how about this, SAY SO and take it off your freaking website. I guess that would be to honest and make too much sense, like telling people that Twin-tex will leak and nothing will stick to it.

Oh well.

That'll take all of 30 seconds.. :P

I have to agree that the Para-whatchmadigm doesn't eactly seem like a winner, speed of a nitro or lack there of, edges of the zephyr but in Royalex so the will get beat to heck and wear out super quick. I just don't see it being the "new hotness".
It is a pretty Green though. maybe that's it's selling point??
