Louie.....
Talk about a subtle form of delegation!
You all know the dates: Mar 8 - 16 2008
We will not have the banquet hall this year but Louie is making arrangements for folks to camp at a friend's backyard (field, really)
Louie will also figure out a location for the morning get togethers. Andrew and I suggested a breakfast type restaurant that has room for the horde!
Again Louie will guide us on the evening post-paddling who-did-the- greatest ______ discussions.
How's that for reciprocal delegation!

Any hope for taking over a campground for ALF 2008? There are a couple of nice ones in the area. Good sites, Hot showers, Clean toilets( relatively) goes a long way for multi day camping/paddling. I was up in Tennessee with Professor Isbell earlier this year and stayed at a nice campground that should be able to house us all. If they take reservations we should be able to make it quite a party. I don't remember the name of the campground though it was between the Tellico and the Hiawassee.
Mr. Brock fun day yesterday, congrats on your 50 water day this year.

The problem with holding the Ain't Louie Fest so early is that all of the campgrounds won't be opened. At least all of the TVA campgrounds will be closed. Last year we couldn't find a campground that opened before the last weekend of the party. If you get enough people together maybe you can talk one of the campgrounds to open early.

How about the Tellico KOA for group camping
If folks are interested I could check to see if they are open, or would open for a group. They have camping, small cabins, nearby food, and rivers.
KOA link for Tellico
They open MArch the 9th, but if there is interest I will see if they would open 1 day early.

Soaring Eagle campground in Roan County, close to all the Pleatue runs and The Smokies both.
Water?
I was going to book the motel where we stayed last year - Comfort Inn in Lenoir - today, but then I saw the link for Tenn river gauges. http://alabamawhitewater.com/forum/phpB ... php?t=2849
WOW - NO WATER!!!! When we ran the Noli last year it was around 800 and apparently on the low side - it is currently running at 450. Tenn is pretty, but it's a long drive for shopping and ribs, and the car gets significantly better mileage w/o two boats on the roof. What'r y'all doin fer paddlin raight naw, eh? Any suggestions?

ALF
I'm really looking forward to the fest.
Is one campground taking the lead as "the place" to stay.
I looked up the one Louie suggested and it looks convenient to I-40 and I-75.
Anyone have any thoughts as to where's the best place to stay?

Hi All, I know we'll be down there, it looks like we're going to do the same thing we did last year, renting a cabin in the Smokies, Tennessee side. Aliesha won't be with us this year as she'll be in France ( doing some skiing in the Alps) thats just not right..... and we're stuck paddling with you guys.... Emily will be at a training camp for cadet paddlers over at NOC, she'll be paddling C1 slalom. But I do know she wants to run the Upper Telico with Louie and Andrew, she'll be paddling OC1 for that. She said she wants to out do her big sister by being a year younger..... she'll be 11.....she said she's ready to show Louie some new lines.
