Ok, better late than never.

We'll be handing in the bid to have the event at the Gull in Minden, Ontario, Canada tomorrow. Andrew and I needed a few committments from folks - especially those that control the water, $ and such before giving it the thumbs up.

More information will be posted as I get it.

IF (BIG IF) accepted, we will run it as follows:

July 29 - 31 course set up, clinics and practices
Aug 1-3 races

If anyone is planning to race/watch and would like to volunteer a few hours here and there please let us know.

Cheers! :D

That's great news Carole. Thanks for doing that. It's nice to read a post NOT about David Simpson's nicknames. I'd be glad to help you and Andrew any way I can.

That would be fantastic if it works out. I like those dates.
I can help set up and anything that's needed beforehand as well.

I like to thank andrew & carol. I had a really good time when Mike Yee organized the nat there. I will be look forward to another great time if I'm able to go. I most likely will go. I'll quit my job hire a nurse and build a new boat for the event. A funeral might be a conflict. We're getting stonger so that probably won't happen.

Your welcome!

However I'd rather do one of the Creek lines you and Andrew hide from me. I can't believe he was still upset about that little incident on the Green at Chief, I did pull him up out of the cave. However that really looks like the best time to have surgery on my shoulder from the injury I got at Phill's last time. After three years it seem that it ain't goin to heal itself and it gives me fits at night.

Thanks Andrew and Carole. It sounds like the Nationals will be awesome. I'm looking forward to heading back up to the Ottawa too. Maybe I can finally surf Garb this year.

Thanks Carole! Thats PERFECT!!!!!!The girls at that point will have had some good practice and training camps behind them even a couple of big races by the time, The Canadian National Junior Qualifier and the US Junior Oylmpics in Wausau Wi. I hope we can drawn some young girls from up out of the US to come race Junior or Cadet? The dates are on the girls calendar they'll be there.

Can someone help...... I was just looking at the ACA Slalom rules....The different classes, the youth class is not defined, male female, do males and females compete against each other in the same class? Or do they have to compete in the open class? Do youth have to race Senoir/Youth class?

My girls will compete at the US National Junior Oylmpics, they have both Cadet and Junior classes for both male and female. Does that qualify them so they don't have to compete in the Non Chanphionship Classes?

Will this event have Champhionship Classes for youth and their sex?

Its just that the ACA rules seem to be a little out dated as more and more youth are competeing at younger ages and with skills that would have them running all the gates as the adults.

Al,
I'm sure that one of the slalom committee members that read this board can answer your questions.
Al, Phil, Amy, Bob, or Pete can probably help.

I'm looking forward to to it. Sounds fun.

Al, he class system is insane. I say we just go OC1 Race M, OC1 Race W, OC1 Rec M, OC1 Rec W, OC1 Jr M, and OC1 Jr W. By the way, the JOs in Wausau are looking promising. We just convinced Dave Kurtz to include canoe (tandem) flatwater jousting as an event.

Anyone want to race OC2 at nationals?
