I've always wanted to enjoy the Boston Pops fireworks show from the river, and after not getting almost any whitewater time on the river this past year, it was a wonderful rainy day when my wife and I took to the mighty Charles River this past July 4.
We paddled downriver for about an hour, and met up with a bunch of other canoeists and kayakers on the way.
We were able to be the closest people to the barges that they launch the fireworks from. Canoes and kayaks are allowed to get closer than the powerboats. Even though it was drizzling on and off throughout the night, it was one of my most memorable days I've ever spent on the water.
I'd love to have a bunch of CBoaters join us for this year's trip. I'm thinking of hosting a gathering through the weekend at our new lake house in Framingham...
Anyone interested in joining us for this year's trek?
Talk soon,
David
Looking forward to my 19-month old TJ becoming a great tandem partner this spring.

July 4th is coming up quick... join us in Boston
For some flatwater paddling for the best view of one of the east coast's finest firework shows.
Great music provided by the Boston Pops, as well.
Let me know if you can make it.
Best,
David
