Palmerfest / Single Blade Symposium
I'm seriously considering FINALLY making the trek north for the Single Blade Symposium in May...anyone here planning on attending, and if so, what should I expect? I contacting Rapid about even having a CBoats.net "booth", but I'm not sure I'll do that...we lose enough money as it is
.

Keep the C!

Hi Adam,
We're gunning to have registration for the festival and clinics up early February. You can find last year's info at the following address, which will give you a pretty good idea of the event.

SirAdam,
I will be there, and so will certainly most of the cboats regulars that live in Ontario and Western Quebec.
Expect a fun time, lots of open boaters and the odd C1-er, quality clinics lead by world class instructors and a good time at the party in the evening!
If you don't want to take any clinics and just explore the rivers in the area, there will most likely be next to the upper, middle and lower Madawaska, a good deal of other options withing a 2 hour drive, ranging from big water (Ottawa) to more creek like paddling (Oxtongue, Drag), anything from class II to class V-ish stuff.
It would be my pleasure to show you down some of these rivers.
You will not be disappointed, I am sure of that!

Mr. Sims, you still paddle ...
... !?!?!?! I thought that nowadays you had resorted to just posting about paddling on various forums, instead of actually practicing it ...
...!!!
Seriously though, it would be good to paddle with you again !

We'll be there as usual, we haven't missed one there since Scott brought it there, we'll have a full range of demo Esquif boats to try. Aliesha will have her chop down Zoom there if anyone thinks they can handle it.
Aliesha & Emily will both be there practicing the for Canadian National Junior Qualifier in the Kananaskis, they'll hoop on the plan that following Thurday..... man live is just way too busy! That reminds me Scott I'll need booth space 10x20.

PAC,
Last time I went in 2006 (couldn't go in 07 due to a scheduling conflict( it cost me, if memory serves me correctly, about can$ 55.
This covers 4 clinics ( 2 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday)as well as dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Camping at the paddler Co-op campground in pPalmer Rapids as well as access to all the events like concerts and the paddling film festival is included.
I believe there was a price hike to about can$75 last year, and I don't know what the rate for kids is, but it's a good deal. And the big O will most likely be BIG!!!
Hope to see you there!
