2008 North Branch of the Potomac Armada May 30-June 1

As you might have guessed from the title, this year's North Branch Armada will be on the North Branch of the Potomac as usual, this year May 31st and June 1.

Tentative schedule as follows:
Friday: Cquirts meet up (at PS Composites?), then wander off for lunch, perhaps Jim Snyder's if he is kind enough to let us drop in again, and then off for a Cquirt session wherever is in....

Friday night - Camping as usual at Jennings Randolph non-hookup sites. Recommend folks consider sharing sites to keep costs down (2 cars per site as i recall).

Saturday - meet at 10:00 at the brick pump house to set shuttle. Attempt to be on the water by 11;)

Saturday evening - Fox's Pizza:)

Sunday - paddling wherever.

Details will be firmed up when we get closer.

Please post if you think you can make it, and if you'd be interested in purchasing an Armada-specific C-t-shirt

I'll have a bunch of Cquirts (Maven, Mentor, and perhaps Oxygen and Acrobat), as well as my Sith:).

I can bring a few other boats, if there is interest in anything in particular.

FWIW I'm hoping to have a late summer / early fall (Labor day weekend?) get together to boat the Hudson Gorge as well as mess around in "vintage" CBoats. I'll post more as we get closer, if anyone PMs me with interest.

Still in dither mode

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to this board and this potomac trip sounds excellent. My usual paddling crowd is all kayakers, so I'll probably be all by my lonesome- does anyone want to share a campsite with a newbie? And I usually paddle class II-III in an OC1 (dagger prophet)- is that ok?

driving from Baltimore, too, and open to carpooling.

You shouldn't have any problem finding a site to camp on, but to be safe you probably ought to reserve one - then of course, you wouldn't have any problem finding someone to share with you.

The "NBP" is a class II with one II/III near the end - it's a friendly river and there will be lots of folks around.

Come on out!
