Yes you read the year correctly ... 2009.

I know the AW site is a good starting point for rivers in the USA.

Could people please post up any books they might have used in their personal plan for the ALF 2008 that just finished.

Please include:

Title

Author

ISBN number

Publisher

Printing revision and date printed

Places where it could be purchased .... website, etc

Personal thoughts about the book ... i.e. good detail, not enough, etc

This would allow some of us to hunt down the hard to find books now instead of scrambling at the last minute. Also easier on the pocket book to buy stuff over a year instead of all at once.

this might help some:

General area: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River_view_
that Big Ridge to the west: http://www.waldensridgewhitewater.com/
General area: http://www.boatingbeta.com/

further south, but if needing water: http://www.alabamawhitewater.com

all of the above sites are (generally) the place to check for levels

in the case of this year we had more water (rain) than Tennessee did that week... it would really be ideal to remain as flexible as possible, in order to follow the best water ... a couple hours south, north, or east - would really open up a lot of possibilities... and if not during a NASCAR race, motel space should be easy to get

i don't have all the particulars you wanted but Leland Davis' NC River and Creeks is great. Doesn't cover the Plateau, but it has the Smokies.
