at least 10 of us Paul
Sleeping in Marmora Saturday !
Here's the link
www.mackfest.ca (nice pics in there BTW
)
M.A.C.K. Marmora Area Canoe & Kayak festival.(2 hours drive from Ottawa, mid way between Toronto and Ottawa).
We go there each year, super fun creeking Class II, III, and a few harder runs.
Hitting the Salmon saturday fro warm ups, and upper black on Sunday. Paddling should be good in that area for the next 3 weeks in my humble opinion.
Yeah ! Creeking season has started !!!

Of course Mike, it's the single blade and the kneeling that's important. Else is just how fast we pick up water...
Why don't you guys hit the upper black Sunday with us instead ?
I know there's always TONS of open boats in that area that time of year and you'll have OC friends Saturday on the upper black, but we'll be there on Sunday...

Heys guys,
Please oost a trip report of your runs at MACKfest. The "Barney boat" and I are laid up, as I can't paddle until my knee heals. Lousy timing, but at least I made ALF.
Hope MACKfest is a success and you C-boaters embare-butt them yakers!!
Pics would be great too.

And that is why I am borrowing Geoff's Nitro.
Geoff told me his boat had to run everything so don't be alarmed when you see it go down a drop without me in the boat. I will play catcher as I get a yakker to give it a push up top
I am doing the Salmon on saturday and most likely the Lower Black on sunday.
But the Skoot sounds tempting!

Hey Al,
Arriving from the east, we'll stop at the Salmon, run the river and head to Marmora for the party Saturday evening.(save 1 hour drive)
So we won't be in town Saturday morning...
What were thinking of running ?
We chose the Salmon as 1st destination since most paddlers in our group will be running the white stuff for the 1st time this year and prefered an easier run to start off / shake to rust off the boats...and paddlers
Hope to see you there !

G,
What time are you going to be at the Salmon?
I am not sure if we have met but I would like to get there ahead of the crowds if possible.

Hi Colin !
We've arranged to meet a few paddlers(double bladders) at the put in around 9:15 ish...on saturday
Traffic is typically non issue on these runs since very little play and mostly point and shoot.
So if there is traffic, we'll just wait 15 minutes or increase the speed of the group and that will take care of of the paddlers / square feet issue
(far from Gat fest or july on the Ottawa...).
I'll be driving my Z-71 white Avalanche with a few OC's on top
Be glad to finally meet to TR Legend of Boat werks (1000 posts...)
See you there ?

Colin in case you can't find Gaetan amidst the swarm of peoplle I'll be there too!
Geoff, Trip reports will definitely follow! We just have to convince Colin to run the Upper Black with us so he can write the TR for that to
Hopefully we won't have anything nearly as exciting as the last time we ran the Upper Black: A good read for those who havent seen it...
(no pics) A good tale about how a whole bunch of little things going wrong can lead to potential disaster.

Ok ... I just sent a message to my group with respect to paddling with you guys on the Salmon.
I am sure some of them will be tagging along.
Yes ... I will have the camera gear ... so you might be slowed down a bit in order for me to take the hi quality pics of the trip.
Gary has asked that I let them play what ever pics I take during the day on a computer slide show at the HQ on the saturday night.
The more pics the better.
And yes you will be able to download the hi-res versions later or I might burn them on a dvd if i have time before you leave.
I am not sure of the upper black. Gonzo told me not to paddle it last year. Not sure if I have the skills this year unless someone who has recently seen me paddlin in TN thinks I do.
Yes I will do the TR.
Gaetan ... will you guys be bring a pin kit and first aid kit.
I will be paddling Keez Nitro and space will be limited and I still have to figure out where the camera is going in the boat.
Be warned ... this will be the first time in more than class 1 in the Nitro so there could be some entertainment factor.
Do you think we would have time to maybe do a 2-4-1 deal and maybe run the Lower Black on the way back?
