Footwear/Booties

I've worn out my old NRS booties, I think they were called the "wetshoe", they've been long ago discontinued. I need some serious flexability to get into my c-1s and be comfortable. Any recommendations on what to try for new footwear.

Thanks, 8)

NRS (where I work...) still makes the Paddle Wetshoe, which might be what you have. I like both the Desperado sock and shoe. Haven't tried the Attack Shoe yet. The new version has a buckle that might be in a bad spot on top of the foot.

The Akona booty is the most flexible I've found, and still have a modicum of sole. I won't wear my NRS booties in my slalom C1 but the Akonas are within (safety) reason. Size them a little smaller than your shoe size so they're snug. (And you don't lose them when you swim, which I'm sure you never do.) 8)

I start with an NRS wetsock, and then, if I haven't padded the bottom of the boat, I glue a layer of neoprene to the top of the wetsock. Because of my size 15 feet, I have needed minimalist footwear in my lower volume c-1s. Another reason to go open boat.
