Colorado - 1st week in July

I'm heading back to my old summering grounds for the 1st week in July. Any cboaters gonna be in the area and have time to paddle?
I'm hoping to hit the Poudre, Clear Creek, the Ark, and maybe a drainage or two to the west.
I think I'm driving down from Idaho and have plenty of room if anyone from ID, MT, or WY wants to go.

Any of those options sound good. PM or latesky....comcast.net as we get closer to the date. What boats you bringing south?

I will likely be in the area as well...a mini-armada perhaps? My only problem...I'll have no boat, and no gear...so if someone has something I can borrow, and are willing to stick to class II-III (I'd rather not run an unknown IV in unfamiliar gear...), let me know, and we'll see what we can work out...if you've got the time and inclination to show a New Englander down a CO river / creek

I've got an acrobat, delirious and occoee. you'd be welcome to use. I'm sure we could find some class II-III to run. I,m most familar with the Ark, but the Poudre has options as well.

I'll bring what I have at the time. I'm sure to have an extra boat or two. Probably Big EZ and Cascade, unless I get a new Jefe Grande. Maybe the 88 if I fix the outfiting or the Fly if I'm still trying to sell it.
Does that narrow it down?
We'll see what time and water bring!

Looking at my "schedule", or sorts, it looks like it'll be closer to the 8th and 9th that I'll be there...though I could possibly move things around to be there a few days earlier.
What days are you two available?
Oh, and if it's a standard cut acrobat (fun length, in other words) that sounds perfect...I like mine for cruising:) , and I'm very comfortable with the design).

I'll have to check with management, but I should be pretty flexible on what days I can get out. The acrobat is standard cut, the tag says medium for 175. depending on water levels USS (ultimate squirt spot) on the poudre may be in, Rincon on the Ark possibly also. Browns on the Ark is epic squirt play, and fun in an OC too.

oopsiflipped: I'm on the Clear Creek town run often, I'd like to meet you. If you were up to paddling the Idaho Springs section (class III) I might be willing to step the boating up a notch--I am "new" to C1, usually paddle a kayak on anything harder than class II, but I'm getting more confident, and the Idaho Springs section is fairly easy III.
If it coincided with a weekend, I'd love to run Filter Plant or Bridges on Poudre. By July the levels will have dropped to easier levels. It's kinda roaring right now.
Adam, I've got a Dagger Atom you can borrow, I could use my kayak. If you have a boat available and going to an easier run, I might join you in my Atom and push my abilities up a knotch.
But I sure would love to boat with some canoeists. They are not as plentiful here in Colorado (darksiders predominate here) as they are in the southeast, so it's always nice to find birds of a feather.

Just thought I'd bring this back to the top:)
I KNOW I'll be in Ouray the night of the 8th...and that the 9th I'll likely be exploring the passes around there.
The DAY of the 8th is a slight possibility for me, as is the 10 or 11th.
If this works for any of you, let me know...if not, that's OK too - there's plenty to keep me occupied:) (I used to work out in WY, CO, MT, and haven't been back in too long...).
Boat wise, my preference would be the Acrobat, assuming Aric would be amoung us.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can make a weekend work
, which I know would have been best. Poor planning on my part.

Don't think I'm going to make it after all. Thought I'd be able to rally a crew and I haven't. Don't have my rig converted to WVO yet and with the price of diesel Co and back solo isn't in the budget. Plus, we still have great flows in Idaho. Has anyone run Mesa Falls in a c-boat yet? I haven't done anything really stupid in a while....

out of touch for a few days, just got back from a 5 day trip on the yampa. I highly recomend this canyon, beautifull river, we had 10000 cfs, 6' tall wave trains LARGE hole in Warm Springs Rapid, but not too hard to avoid. A great trip. unfortunately my car broke on the way to the put in, So I will be returning to Craig at some point to pick it up. no ouray for me, but if people are in the front range/ Ark areas I could still paddle. My boats are still available for borrow, if anyone needs them also. Adam, are you passing through from Denver?

I'm coming down from WY near Encampment and wandering back and forth across the divide, then heading a bit west to Ouray (then over Imogene pass to Telluride). A week after that we're in Bryce, so we can travel east a bit for boating if it works out. The other possibility would be the 7th or so...though it is a bit dependent on when we get out of here.

Oopsflipped, I'll be in the Boise area probably late July to mid-August. Not sure if you ever get down that way, but it's always cool to meet new C-1ers. I know there aren't too many out that way.

Glenwood Area?

Adam,
If you are coming from the Ouray area, Would an afternoon/ evening run in the glenwood area work? Shoshoni will likely be too high for good play, but there's Woody creek, toothache and cemetary and the fryingpan up towards carbondale. the first two Ive never run, but am familiar with the second two all in the class II-III+ range. Tiggy and Quico, would either of you be able to make it on the 10th or 11th?
