Paddle length?

Post by KAYAKN »

Just started paddling a open boat, i have a buds blade and just cant seem to get my off side brace to get any water so i either get window shaded or just freakn fall over because i cant brace(reach the water). What length paddles should i try and how long can i get them? Im 6'1" and my arm length is around 32" from my shoulder down to my finger tip. Im fixin to buy a Zephyr so thats the boat i'll be paddling.
Thanks Adam

Try at least a 58" Also, on offside braces, you often need to really commit to the brace and get your body over and down. Happy swims!

My buds blade is a 58" that ive been using. Just wondering if im setting to high? The boat im learning in is a Ovation and the guy that paddles it is about my height. I wounder if most of my problem is not knowing what the hades im doing. Every time i do need a off side brace i just cant seem to reach the water
