Just got it all done tonight!

- made a new saddle (lower, shorter and wider)
- installed different thigh straps (not 100% happy with the outcome, they may change again)
- put some fooam blocks for mu knees in (not yet sure how they will work, but will do for this weekend)
- ratcheting backband to pull me tight into the outfitting!

Can't wait to try it out onm the weekend!

I can't imagine how well that boat's going to perform now. It was pretty amazing w/ the original outfitting. It's going to be even better now!

Dare I ask how much a ceemweaver costs? Standard squirt boat pricing? I.E. about 2 months pay for me?

A kayakin bud has a nice squirt boat. With Jimistick and Mtn Surf Dry deck i think the set up approaches $3k!

Any good places to look for an older (CHEAP) c1 squirt boat?

If you are looking for a well used older model - keep your eyes open and act fast...very fast! They sell quick.
You might contact Adam (when he gets back from his road trip) to see what he is asking for a Mentor. Not sure your size but if in the <150 lb range that boat would work.
On the Ceemweaver, I was at PS Composites Friday last and Mary Kay said $1800 for the standard lay up and Paul's usual quality workmenship & art work. If only I was rich! Paul C.

the only way i could way less than 150 lbs would be to cut most or all of both legs off. would make fitting into cquirt playboats easier....

Ya need a Ceemweaver then... Even the big boys (and very big boys) fit in it with ease! Martin is a tall lad with big dogs and he fits in it - better now I bet! Paul C.

Regarding the Mentor, I just put up an ad in the Boats for Sale... The purple one is higher cut than the red one (in other words for someone larger than me), I weigh in without gear at 165 or so (at least BEFORE this road trip;) ). Purple one should be dialed in for around 185, preferably with better trim than was experienced at the Cquirt (the rim will fix that). If you're over 190, get a Ceemweaver...it's really your only good option for a mystery capable squirt. Under that, the Mentor and cut down Acrobat are good choices (acrobat down to 180 or so anyway...below that it's Mentor or cut down Ceemweaver). That said, if you want to play it cheap, get an Acrobat and enlarge the cockpit so you fit (that's the common problem with larger folks).

Well, I didn't get in Smoothie last weekend (since I was running safety for the newbie club trip on Monday, it was suggested to me to take a boat with some volume that would actually be useful in rescuing people ... so I decided to take the Acrobat ... ...).

But I took it out into the Piano Rock eddyline and down the lower rapid at Palmer Rapids. the boat is an absolute dream to paddle. I could throw cartwheels at will, the only thing that made me stop was me getting nauseous!!! In some ways the boat feels actually morte stable than the Acrobat. I can't wait to take it down the Ottawa.

I modified the outfitting some more tonight, I raise rhe attachment points for the Backband, as it wanted to silde down my butt, I replaced the velcro straps with some 2" webbing and some divers weight belt buckles and I added some more foam to the knee area (skin against rough fiberglass is kinda painful...).

Can't wait to see what others have to say about it , now that it has some tight outfitting in it!
